Only 21 businesses were added to the ABS statistical area covering Menai, Lucas Heights and Woronora between June 2021 and June 2025, taking the count to 1,539. Construction is the largest group with 374, but professional, scientific and technical services are a strong second at 239, about one in six, and finance and insurance makes the top eight. Just over half (55%) have no employees, and 618 businesses turn over $200,000 to $2 million a year. That points to a lot of established operators, and for many of them the better investment is a redesign that makes their expertise easy to check, rather than a first website.
