How much does a Shopify website cost in Australia?

Two costs to budget for. The build: a professionally designed Shopify store in Australia typically runs from about $8,000 for a simple store to $20,000 or more for a fully custom theme with complex integrations (Bark's 2026 Australian pricing guide). Our Shopify stores start at $5,500 as a fixed quote. Then Shopify's own subscription, billed by Shopify separately, which starts at A$56 a month on the Basic plan (A$42 a month billed yearly) plus payment processing fees.

Is Shopify or WooCommerce better for a Sydney small business?

For most small retailers, Shopify. It's hosted, secure and fast out of the box, payments and Afterpay are built in, and you can run it without a developer. WooCommerce makes sense when you already run a WordPress site with lots of content, need deep customisation, or want to avoid monthly platform fees. We build both and will recommend the one that fits your products and your team, not the one we prefer.

How long does a Shopify store take to build?

Two to three weeks from kickoff for a typical store with up to about 50 products, provided product photos and descriptions are ready. Larger catalogues, custom features or a migration from another platform add time, and you get a specific timeline in your quote.

Can you move my store from Wix, Squarespace or WooCommerce to Shopify?

Yes. We migrate products, images, customers and order history, set up 301 redirects from your old product URLs so your Google rankings can carry over, and run the two stores side by side until the switch is tested. Migrations are quoted as a fixed price once we've seen the existing store.

Will I be able to manage the store myself?

That's the point of Shopify. Adding products, changing prices, running a sale and fulfilling orders all happen in Shopify's admin, which we walk you through in a handover session. You won't need us for day-to-day changes.

Do you set up Shopify Payments, Afterpay and shipping for Australia?

Yes. Every store ships with Shopify Payments (cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay), Afterpay or Zip if you want them, PayPal, Australian GST configured correctly, and shipping rates set up for Australia Post or your courier, including local pickup if you have a Sydney shopfront.
