Tulip Time fills Corbett Gardens every spring, yet the largest group of businesses in Bowral isn't hospitality. It's professional services. We build websites for both sides of the town: the cafés and stays that rely on visitors, and the advisers and consultants who work here all year.

Where business happens

Bong Bong Street, Corbett Gardens and the cellar doors

Bowral is the largest town in the Southern Highlands, about 132 km south-west of Sydney and 5 km from Mittagong. Its main street, Bong Bong Street, is known for the oak trees at its start, and Corbett Gardens on Bendooley Street hosts Tulip Time each spring. During the 2026 festival the gardens opened daily from 9.30am, with later closing over the October long weekend, and Wingecarribee Shire residents got in free.

Cricket brings its own visitors through Bradman Oval and the Bradman Museum and International Cricket Hall of Fame. The Southern Highlands has about 60 vineyards, with Mittagong the region's winery centre, and Bowral was proclaimed a book town in 2000. Bowral station sits on the Southern Highlands Line to Sydney, and Bowral and District Hospital, founded in 1889, is run by the South Western Sydney Local Health District.

A calm, professional office workspace

Websites for the Highlands' two economies

Bowral sites tend to serve one of two audiences, weekend visitors or long-term clients, and we build quite differently for each.

For stays, cafés and cellar doors

Visitors often look you up before they make the drive. We put booking links, opening hours and directions at the top of the page, and add an events section you can update yourself, so a Tulip Time weekend or a long weekend special goes live in minutes rather than days.

For advisers and consultants

With 363 professional firms and 128 finance and insurance businesses in the area, a quiet, credible site does the selling. We set out who you are, your qualifications and memberships, the kind of client you suit and a simple booking form, then keep the design calm enough to match the advice.

For shops that sell past the weekend

Bowral is known for its boutiques and antique stores, and a good online shop lets them keep selling after visitors head home. Our online store builds start at $5,500, and for Kayinat Perfumery we built a custom store rather than a Shopify template.

Designing for a Highlands audience

Bowral's residents skew older: the median age in the 2021 Census was 55. If locals are your customers, that changes the design brief. We set larger body text, strong colour contrast, a tappable phone number at the top of every page and forms with as few fields as possible. These choices help every visitor, but they matter most in a town like this.

Bowral is about 67 km from our base in Macarthur. The Hume Motorway bypasses both Campbelltown and Bowral on its run south, but that doesn't make us neighbours: projects here run on video calls and a private preview link, with Sayed answering every message within one business day. Choose us for the work, not the postcode.

Local support worth knowing

Two organisations Bowral businesses can lean on.

  • Wingecarribee Shire Council: Business: Council's business section, with grant funding finder access, event approvals guidance, agritourism rules and Destination Southern Highlands, the region's official tourism body.
  • Business Southern Highlands: The Southern Highlands chamber of commerce, representing businesses across the region and working with Destination Southern Highlands, the Southern Highlands Food and Wine Association and council.

Good to know

Bowral web design questions, answered

How should a Bowral café or B&B get its website ready for Tulip Time?
Update it before September. Tulip Time at Corbett Gardens ran from 11 September to 5 October in 2026, and festival visitors are likely to check hours, menus and availability before they drive in. Add your festival opening hours, a booking link and walking directions from the gardens. Make sure your Google Business Profile shows the same hours, because a mismatch can send people to the café next door.
Should a Bowral business mention the Southern Highlands or just Bowral?
Both, in the right places. Bowral is the largest town in the Southern Highlands, and visitors may know the region's name before they know the town, while locals are more likely to search for Bowral itself. Use Bowral in your page titles and Business Profile, and mention Mittagong, Moss Vale or Berrima only where you genuinely serve them. We handle the technical side, such as schema and location signals.
We run a farm stay near Bowral. What should the website cover?
Start with availability and booking, then what guests can actually do on the property, with honest photos and clear directions from Bowral. Wingecarribee Shire Council's business pages cover the newer rules for agritourism and farm stay accommodation, so check where you stand before promoting activities online. A Launch site from $1,500 suits a single property, and Grow from $3,500 fits a stay with several cottages or experiences.
What will a Bowral consultant or adviser pay for a website?
A sole consultant or adviser usually needs three to six pages covering services, background, approach and contact. That sits between our Launch package, from $1,500 inc. GST for about three pages, and Grow, from $3,500 for six to eight. In the Bowral statistical area, 58.8% of businesses have no employees, so we price for a one-person practice without trimming the parts that build trust, like a proper About page.
